todays lecture was fantabulous
i think dr matthews makes de whole mod more bearable
or just that im more inclined towards qualitative
as compared to quantitative analysis
he actually did a field observation
of students who sat at de back of lecture theatres
and some of his observations are quite funny
students tend to
-eat chocolates sweets chips ... and de inexhaustive list
-play cards
-surf random pages on their lappies
-show each other stuffs on phone
-pen twirling competitions
-doodling
i think he totally saw alyani and i sharing de potato salad
and doddling and playing tictactoe
hahahaha
and his conclusion
Rather than seeing students as lacking motivation, uncooperative and disrespectful, I realised that students were in fact attempting to remain entertained so as to ensure maximum enjoyment of the lecture.
These were active students who were trying to re-shape the institutional realities of lectures.
